We welcome contributions on all topics relating to youth policy. You can send us your work, or get in touch with a preliminary inquiry at: siddhant@yif.org.in.

Directions for Authors

The Centre for Youth Policy (CYP) invites submissions for its small-form publications, including Blog Posts, Case Studies, Policy Briefs, and other short-form posts. We are looking for clear, original contributions that are grounded in youth-related issues.

A Word on Content and Style

We welcome posts on youth-related issues, and the thematic basis for all forms of publication will be the same. Contributions should have a clear grounding in topics inlcuding but not limited to policies impacting the youth, youth/student movements, case laws affecting the youth, profiles of young politicians, or youth policy recommendations.

Submissions should be easily comprehensible, avoiding excessively academic language or jargon.

The Small-Form Manuscripts (Blog Posts, Case Studies, Policy Briefs, etc.) are shorter and a good format for engaging with current youth issues. Titles should be engaging and informative, reflecting the submission's subject matter.

Posts must be unpublished, original work that has not been submitted elsewhere.

Submission Guidelines

Length

Text posts should be between 1,000-2,000 words in length.
Exceptions to this may be made if necessary, however, the discretion lies solely in the hands of the editorial team.

Language & Formatting

Text must be in Times New Roman, size 12, with single spacing.

Submissions must be made in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.

We strongly discourage the use of footnotes in short-form submissions Instead, the centre uses hyperlinks to relevant sources and background information, including any judgments, laws, treaties, or academic texts mentioned. Hyperlinks must lead only to reputable sources. The editors retain final discretion over what constitutes a reputable source. Where hyperlinks are unavailable, standard referencing may be allowed.

Submission Instructions

All manuscripts must be submitted via email to: siddhant@yif.org.in.

Each email must include the following:

-A copy of the manuscript as a Microsoft Word Document.

-A brief author bio (no more than 50 words).

-A short introduction to the manuscript (no more than 150 words).

The editorial process is the following-

1. The editorial team checks the formatting of the contribution on the basis of which, the manuscript may face desk rejection.
2. The editorial team will then review the post for its fit within the blog's scope, originality, and adherence to any basic guidelines following which the substance of the manuscript will be reviewed by the team.
3. The post will then be accepted, rejected or in requirement of revision.
4. If revisions are required or the post is accepted, the decision and the revisions will be communicted to the author(s).
5. The editor or a dedicated editorial team performs copyediting, proofreading, and formatting to ensure the post meets the blog's standards.
6. The final version is published online along with an instagram and linkedin post.
